Spiritually Integrated Clinical Therapy:
Treatment for a Wide Variety of Issues
Virtual-Based Online Talk Therapy
Dr. Nicholson conducts all counseling sessions via a fully online model. Because of this, Dr. Nicholson is able to meet with patients from across the state of Tennessee. The virtual format means that you can meet with Dr. Nicholson from the comfort of your home, office, or other location that works best for you via an online video chat room. For clients who prefer not to meet via video, a traditional phone call is also an option. In-person therapy is not offered at this time.
Mental Health Concerns
It's not uncommon for the problems we face to be linked to mental health issues, whether it be something as common as anxiety or depression, or something more complex like a personality disorder, a mood disorder, etc. Dr. Nicholson has training in working with people who are affected by common mental health concerns. Dr. Nicholson is a first line of defense in treating such concerns, and he's a valuable resource in helping you know if you may need to see a specialist as you deal with whatever condition you or your loved one might be suffering from.
We all get angry at times, but some people need help controlling their anger. If you have a history of physical violence, if you're susceptible to angry outbursts, or if you take your anger out on your loved ones, then you are a prime candidate for anger management therapy. Dr. Nicholson is well versed in anger management strategies, and he can help you find ways to control your anger and live a more calm, balanced life.
Conflict with other people is a part of life, but sometimes we find ourselves in situations where we're not sure how to handle the people in our lives. Dr. Nicholson works with people who are facing a wide variety of interpersonal relationship struggles. If you are in a situation involving conflict with a family member, a coworker, a mate or spouse, or any other loved one, then Dr. Nicholson can listen to your story and help you find a way forward. Likewise, Dr. Nicholson is a valuable resource for those times when relationships end, such as when we are navigating a divorce or breakup.
Dr. Nicholson doesn't just work with individuals. He also meets with couples who are going through struggles. Dr. Nicholson can help you identify the root causes of relationship trouble, and can coach you on effective strategies for healing relationships that are suffering. He also offers pre-marital counseling for those who are soon to be married, so that you can start your new life together on the right foot.
Trauma encompasses a wide range of events--everything from witnessing a violent event, to surviving a car crash, to surviving sexual assault, along with a whole host of other presenting issues. When we experience trauma, it's often the case that we need a resource to share the load as we seek to move forward. Dr. Nicholson works with those who have survived traumatic events, and does everything in his power to play a support role and help the client move forward from what has happened.
The loss of a loved one is always traumatic, and on the other side of loss we go through a process of grieving our loved one. If you've lost a special person, Dr. Nicholson can help you find coping mechanisms and play a support role as you grieve.
Not all situations fit a certain label. What you're facing may not be easy to categorize, or it may be something so complex that it's hard to know where to begin. That's okay: you don't have to know what to call your problem on the front end of your counseling sessions. Dr. Nicholson will be happy to meet with you, hear your story, and help you make sense of it all.
